Job Description
Step into an engaging contract opportunity serving elementary and secondary students for the 2025/2026 academic year as a School Psychologist. Based near New Haven, CT, this role begins August 25, 2025, and runs through June 11, 2026. Working a consistent weekday schedule of 8:30am to 3:30pm and totaling 37.5 hours per week, you’ll provide expert psychological services and support teams dedicated to student growth.
Background and qualifications sought:
- Valid CT 070 School Psychologist License (required)
- Proven experience with K-12 population
- Strong knowledge of psychological evaluations, re-evaluations, and behavioral assessments
- Skilled in report writing and direct counseling with students
- Ability to collaborate effectively with PPT teams
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with state and federal education guidelines
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive school climate
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Conducting comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and re-evaluations
- Preparing detailed reports that inform interventions and support plans
- Delivering short-term counseling and support to students
- Liaising with the PPT (Planning and Placement Team) to develop individualized education plans
- Offering consultation to educators, staff, and families on student needs
- Promoting a supportive environment for diverse learners
- Monitoring student progress and documenting outcomes
- Participating in multidisciplinary meetings and ongoing trainings
