Kforce is partnering with a well-established organization in the Saint Louis area to identify a Director of Accounting. Key Responsibilities: Lead the monthly close process for a multi-location business, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, account reconciliations, and consolidation of results Oversee the day-to-day accounting function, providing leadership, coaching, and process improvements while supporting organizational growth and operational changes Partner with finance, operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accounting systems, reporting, and processes effectively support business needs Maintain a strong internal control environment by overseeing financial reporting processes, lease accounting, fixed assets, and balance sheet integrity in accordance with company policies and accounting standards Review financial results, key account activity, and balance sheet reconciliations to identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and communicate significant variances to senior leadership Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, strengthen reporting, and support future business growth Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required; CPA designation preferred Approximately 10 or more years of progressive accounting experience, including experience supporting complex or multi-site operations Demonstrated success leading and developing accounting teams in a managerial capacity. Public accounting experience is beneficial but not required Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, including lease accounting principles Familiarity with SOX controls and internal control frameworks is preferred Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to influence business partners and solve complex accounting issues The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave. Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable.
