Make an impact in the lives of middle and high school students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school community for the 2026-2027 academic year! We're seeking passionate educators to fill four full-time, onsite positions: one at the middle school level and three at the high school level, with concentrations in Science, Math, and Social Studies. These contract roles are ideal for professionals who excel in both subject mastery and classroom management, and who are dedicated to personalized learning and differentiation in an urban educational setting.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education certification/licensure required for each assignment
  • Bachelor’s degree required (for emergency teaching permit eligibility)
  • Proven experience working in a school environment, ideally in urban districts
  • Demonstrated expertise in relevant subject matter for concentration roles (Science, Math, Social Studies)
  • Strong classroom and behavioral management skills
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work onsite – no scheduling accommodations provided
  • Completion of all required Pennsylvania clearances prior to start date
  • Comfortable and adaptable within diverse district cultures

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet PA state and district standards
  • Use formative assessments and differentiated instruction to address varied learning needs
  • Manage all aspects of classroom environment to support positive student behavior
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues, families, and support staff
  • Participate in school-based meetings, professional development, and IEP processes
  • Fulfill duties within the established work schedule

Contract Details:

  • Full-time, 35 hours/week
  • Middle School: Hours between 8:30AM-4PM or 8AM-3:15PM (determined by assignment)
  • High School: 7:15AM-2:45PM
  • August 24, 2026 – June 10, 2027
