Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid and current certification in Special Education (state requirements must be met)
- Experience teaching in a self-contained classroom preferred
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement IEPs
- Strong collaboration skills for working closely with support staff, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Dedication to creating an inclusive, positive, and structured learning environment
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and adapt curriculum to meet the unique needs of each student
- Deliver engaging instruction to a self-contained caseload of 10-20 students
- Monitor progress, collect data, and report on student achievements and challenges
- Collaborate with educational support staff and families to foster a cohesive support system
- Maintain all necessary documentation and compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
- Participate in professional development and contribute to a collegial team
