Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid state certification in Special Education
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to teach diverse learners in a resource classroom setting
- Collaborative mindset for working with fellow educators, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach and support students in a resource classroom with a caseload of 25-35
- Implement differentiated instructional strategies tailored to student needs
- Develop, update, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in coordination with multidisciplinary teams
- Communicate progress and strategies with parents and guardians
- Effectively manage the classroom to create an inclusive and positive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to evaluations and eligibility meetings
- Participate in ongoing professional development and staff meetings
Position Details:
- Contract position
- Start date: ASAP, ending 5/21/2026
- Full-time schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
- Two openings available
- Resource classroom located at Union/Hurley
