Special Education Teacher in Minneapolis, MN

Make a difference in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher at a leading district near Minneapolis, MN. Several contract openings are available to support resource classrooms and center-based programs focused on behavioral needs. You’ll join a dedicated onsite team for the 2026–2027 academic year, collaborating closely with professionals across special and general education settings. Positions include working within middle school resource rooms, as well as specialized programs for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD).

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota Special Education teaching credential in one or more areas: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, or Academic & Behavioral Strategist license (ABS optional, not required for all candidates)
• Strong background in behavior intervention strategies and problem-solving
• Consistent, reliable attendance track record
• Proficient in implementing and monitoring behavior plans
• Skilled at creating structured classroom routines and delivering engaging instruction
• Effective communicator able to collaborate with both special education and general education staff, plus paraprofessionals
• Experience with cross-categorical programs and supporting students with varied disabilities is highly valued

Primary Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students with behavioral and academic needs
• Work in middle school resource rooms or center-based settings (ASD and DCD programs)
• Develop, follow, and adjust behavior intervention plans
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, as well as families, to create supportive learning environments
• Provide mentorship and coordinate daily schedules with paraprofessionals
• Collect data, conduct progress monitoring, and adapt interventions to best support student growth

This is a full-time, onsite role with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week from August 17, 2026, through June 3, 2027.
