Special Education Teacher in Scottsdale, AZ

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching credential or eligibility to obtain
• Experience working in a self-contained classroom, especially with early elementary (K-2) students preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP processes, documentation, and progress monitoring
• Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
• Skilled in implementing evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral supports
• Passion for fostering independence and achievement in young learners

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and deliver individualized lesson plans based on IEP goals
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction as needed
• Foster a supportive classroom climate that encourages participation and social-emotional growth
• Maintain accurate records of students’ development and communicate regularly with parents and staff
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on student support plans
• Support positive behaviors and social skills development through proactive intervention and reinforcement
