Step into a key role where your expertise as a School Psychologist will foster the success of young learners entering the school environment. A district near Mishawaka, IN seeks a dedicated, on-site professional to work primarily with Pre-K students for the 2026-2027 academic year, with a contract spanning August 14, 2026, to June 4, 2027.
In this engaging position, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary staff to support First Step Transition students, delivering behavioral intervention services that empower children to thrive as they begin their school journey. Your focus will be on social-emotional development, positive classroom behavior, and smooth transitions.
Responsibilities include:
- Implementing the First Step Transition program with an emphasis on behavioral coaching, teacher support, and family collaboration.
- Providing early intervention and transition strategies for Pre-K students, supporting their adaptation to the preschool setting.
- Facilitating preschool evaluations and collaborating during two-day multidisciplinary assessments with professionals across specialties (Psych, OT, PT, SLP, Autism Consultant, nurse, etc.).
- Managing a caseload of approximately 70 Pre-K students, primarily housed in a dedicated special needs and abilities preschool environment (SNAP).
- Conducting progress monitoring and classroom consultations and offering guidance to caregivers to promote student readiness.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Valid school psychologist credential (state requirements).
- Experience working with early childhood or Pre-K populations preferred.
- Background in behavioral interventions and school readiness initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Flexibility for occasional additional hours beyond 35 per week.
