Job Description
Make a meaningful impact this school year as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Early Childhood education. This contract role, located near Wilmington, VT, offers the opportunity to shape the academic and social experiences of young learners across multiple sites. As an itinerant teacher, you'll provide critical special education services to students ages 3-5, collaborating with various teams and families. The schedule follows regular school hours, running from 8:00am to 3:30pm, and is ideal for educators who thrive in dynamic, multi-site environments. Full-time candidates are preferred, but there is flexibility for those interested in part-time hours. Caseloads may expand over the year, allowing you to grow in your role as you become an integral part of each child’s early educational journey.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Vermont Early Childhood Special Education Endorsement, or eligibility for a provisional license
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in an early childhood or preschool setting
- Solid understanding of the IEP process and best practices in early intervention
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective partnerships with families and school staff
- Flexibility and organization required to work across 3-4 sites
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students with special needs ages 3-5
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in partnership with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Travel between assigned schools/sites each week
- Foster an inclusive, nurturing classroom atmosphere
