Job Description
Make a meaningful difference supporting students with diverse learning needs during the 2026-2027 academic year. Multiple contract opportunities are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers with a passion for empowering K-7th grade students. Positions begin August 2026 and run through June 2027, with full-time hours (35-37.5 per week, Monday through Friday).
Openings exist for three resource teachers: one focused on Kindergarten resource support, another covering Grades 1-2, and a third specializing as a 7th-grade resource/case manager. Educators joining this team will collaborate closely with colleagues and families to craft engaging educational experiences, address individual student needs, and foster academic as well as social growth. These assignments are exclusively in-person.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) in Connecticut
- Previous experience working with elementary or middle school students in a resource or case management role
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to inclusivity, positive behavioral supports, and differentiated instruction
- Availability to work on site for the full school year
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and resource support aligned with IEP goals
- Serve as case manager for assigned students, collaborating on progress monitoring and reporting
- Work with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and deliver accommodations
- Foster an inclusive environment that supports diverse learning styles
- Maintain accurate documentation and student records
- Engage families as partners in the educational process
