At Shettler Elementary, you will have your own classroom and three dedicated assistants, ensuring individualized attention for each student. Currently, six students are enrolled, with potential for the class to grow during the year.

Ideal candidates have a background in Special Education, with a preference for those holding a Michigan Early Childhood Special Education endorsement. If you hold any special education certification, your application is welcome. You’ll collaborate with an experienced ECSE teacher at the school, offering an excellent support system as you guide your students through a vital stage of growth and development.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education certification; Michigan ECSE endorsement preferred
• Experience working with early childhood or ECSE students in a school setting
• Strong communication and collaborative skills
• Ability to create a nurturing, structured, and engaging classroom environment

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction based on student needs and IEP goals
• Lead your own classroom with assistance from three paraprofessionals
• Monitor, record, and communicate student progress regularly
• Utilize early childhood best practices to foster growth and development
• Work alongside other educators and support staff for comprehensive student care

Enjoy flexible hours—up to 30 per week—with some full days and extra hours possible as student needs evolve. The role is part-time to start with the potential to become full-time as new students join the program.
