Senior Accountant

Kforce has a client in Clearwater, FL that is seeking a Senior Accountant. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the direct assistant to the Controller, supporting day-to-day accounting operations and strategic finance initiatives Oversee and actively participate in accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, general ledger, and cash management activities Perform and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities Supervise accounting processes while remaining hands-on and willing to perform day-to-day transactional work when needed Maintain a strong understanding of the procure-to-pay process, including purchase orders, overhead expenses, and three-way matching Assist with financial reporting, account analysis, and identifying process improvements Support the company's upcoming ERP implementation and help improve accounting workflows and system efficiencies Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data and effective communication across the organization Prepare for increasing leadership responsibilities with a defined growth path toward Assistant Controller and future Controller/CFO opportunities Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required 2-5 years of accounting experience, with public accounting audit experience strongly preferred (Tier II firms preferred) Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, general ledger, cash management, and the overall accounting cycle Solid understanding of accounting principles, including debits, credits, and financial statement impacts Strong reconciliation skills and advanced Excel proficiency Ability to quickly learn new ERP systems; Prior ERP experience is beneficial but not required Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments Demonstrated willingness to be hands-on and work in the details when necessary The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
