Mechatronics Technician

Automation Technician Location: Buffalo Grove, IL / Libertyville, IL Employment Type: Contract (W2) Shift: 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM) Work Authorization: US Citizens & Green Card Holders Only Job Description PROLIM Global Corporation is seeking an experienced Automation Technician for our client, Flextronics, in Buffalo Grove or Libertyville, IL. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Injection Molding Automation, industrial robotics, PLCs, HMIs, and troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment. Required Qualifications 4+ years of experience in Injection Molding Automation or a related manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with robot programming and troubleshooting. Strong experience troubleshooting:Electrical systems Mechanical systems Pneumatic systems Hydraulic systems Experience working with:PLCs HMIs Servo Motors Motion Control Systems VFDs Industrial Sensors Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics. Experience with EOAT (End-of-Arm Tooling) is preferred. High School Diploma or GED required. Technical Certification or Associate Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, or Industrial Automation is a plus. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair molding automation systems, robots, conveyors, sensors, and vision systems. Program and optimize molding robots including Fanuc, Sepro, Yushin, and Wittmann. Modify robot programs to improve production efficiency and cycle times. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment. Support mold trials, production startups, and new product launches. Maintain robot backups, documentation, and maintenance records. Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with plant safety and quality standards.
