Position Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

This role involves utilizing therapeutic communication daily, ensuring a safe and supportive environment, and identifying nursing challenges based on the unique needs of each patient. The Registered Nurse will create personalized care plans while adopting an interdisciplinary approach and engaging in performance improvement initiatives. You will provide care that aligns with the hospital's mission and vision.

In the capacity of charge nurse, you will oversee daily operations to guarantee high-quality patient care in a supportive setting. Responsibilities include making staff assignments based on patient needs, acuity, and staff expertise, serving as a role model and clinical resource for team members, and responding promptly to inquiries or follow-ups regarding physician, staff, or patient matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs while executing physician orders.
  • Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
  • Document and communicate patient conditions appropriately using computerized systems.
  • Educate and instruct patients and their families as part of a Multidisciplinary Care Planning team.

Qualifications Required:

  • Registered Nurse with a degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current licensure with the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire.
  • Preferred: One year of clinical nursing experience.
