Position Overview:
Utilizes a scanner to capture images essential for diagnosing and treating various conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares and positions patients while accurately selecting anatomical and technical parameters to generate cross-sectional images.
- Conducts patient pre-screening, scheduling, and provides education regarding the examination process.
- Inputs and monitors patient information and transfers images as required.
- Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications in accordance with accepted practices and relevant regulations.
- Ensures timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient data/history.
- Maintains equipment functionality and reports any issues or malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Assists in keeping the department clean and organized, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
- Operates in a state of constant alertness and safety.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education:
- Completion of an MRI or Radiology Technology program.
Experience:
- No prior experience necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Regular standing and walking.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
- Regular use of hearing and speech for effective oral communication.
- Frequent auditory skills to detect body sounds and alarms from equipment.
- Regular lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent patient lifting/moving.
- Regular reaching, gripping, and data entry on a keyboard.
- Occasional lifting and pushing/pulling of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional visual tasks to identify and differentiate colors.
- Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms.
- Rarely kneeling or sitting.
