This opportunity centers on working within self-contained behavior classrooms, specifically designed for students with autism and those requiring structured intensive support. The role runs from August 3 to May 21, 2027, situated onsite near Phoenix, AZ.
Ideal candidates are passionate educators with a demonstrated ability to engage students who may have emotional disabilities or other eligibility areas, especially those navigating challenges with prosocial and self-regulatory skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Must hold a valid Standard Arizona Secondary Teaching License
- Current K-12 Special Education certificate required
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card mandatory
- Experience in self-contained behavior or autism support classrooms strongly preferred
- Understanding and responsiveness to the needs of at-risk, ethnically diverse, limited English proficient, and exceptional students
- Proven background in developing and implementing special services activities, adhering to federal, state, and district guidelines
- Completion of Essential Element of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training or willingness to participate in staff development
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction and structured support to students in a self-contained environment
- Foster growth in prosocial behavior and self-regulation
- Collaborate with faculty, therapists, and families to create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Prepare and maintain special education documentation and assessments in compliance with regulatory standards
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to meet students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
