Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a resource classroom setting near Peoria, AZ. This position begins as soon as possible and extends through May 21, 2026. You’ll work full-time (5 days a week, 8 hours daily) and have the chance to make a significant impact in the lives of 25-35 students.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) for Arizona
- Experience working in resource classroom settings is highly valued
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
- Commitment to fostering inclusion in educational environments
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction, accommodation, and support aligned with individualized education plans (IEPs) in a resource classroom
- Monitor students’ progress, collect data, and actively participate in the IEP process
- Maintain regular, clear communication with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary teams
- Create a safe, welcoming, and structured environment that nurtures academic and social growth
- Adapt instruction and materials for diverse learning needs and styles
- Uphold ethical and professional standards in all aspects of service delivery
- Collaborate in professional development and contribute positively to the school community
