Job Description

This full-time contract role is designed for a dedicated professional who will have a direct impact in a self-contained classroom at the elementary level, supporting students with mild disabilities. With 35 hours per week and a stable assignment running from early August 2026 through early June 2027, you’ll help shape positive learning outcomes for a close-knit group of young learners.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid and active Indiana teaching license in Special Education (a screenshot of licensure is required with application)
- Previous experience working in a self-contained special education setting is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with instructional strategies tailored for students with mild disabilities
- Strong collaboration skills and a positive, solutions-oriented attitude
- Able to commit to fully onsite responsibilities throughout the school year
- Strong communication skills with students, colleagues, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement individual education programs for students
- Develop a compassionate, structured classroom environment that fosters student growth and success
- Collaborate with support staff, related service professionals, and educators to deliver holistic instruction
- Utilize data to adapt and refine teaching strategies based on student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with all educational policies and procedures
