Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching License required
• Previous classroom experience, particularly in elementary or middle school settings, is preferred
• Knowledge of individualized instructional strategies and IEP development
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with assistants, therapists, and families
• Comfortable with providing toileting assistance as needed
• Adaptable, patient, and committed to fostering a supportive learning environment

Role Responsibilities:

• Teach and support a small, manageable caseload: 6 elementary students (some requiring toileting assistance, no feeding needs) and 11 middle school students (one with a feeding tube, toileting assistance needed for a few)
• Develop and implement lesson plans and behavior strategies tailored to each child’s educational needs
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and a behavior technician in the elementary classroom and work alongside a supportive team in the middle school classroom, including three full-time teaching assistants and a 1:1 support professional
• Maintain accurate records, complete progress reports, and actively participate in IEP meetings
• Create a nurturing and inclusive environment that helps all students feel safe, respected, and empowered to learn
