Step into an impactful onsite opportunity as an Occupational Therapist supporting students in an educational setting. This contract role offers you the chance to work hands-on, fostering growth and development among children and youth while collaborating with dedicated educators and specialists.
You’ll engage in meaningful interventions throughout a standard school week—no weekends or evenings—dedicating 35 hours per week to direct student care. This position is fully onsite and requires a professional with a strong background in school-based occupational therapy. There are no virtual, hybrid, or COTA responsibilities; your expertise as a credentialed OT is essential to student success.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in California
- Previous experience working within school systems is required
- Familiarity with educational accommodations, IEP processes, and pediatric interventions
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, students, and families
- Ability to independently manage a caseload and documentation
- Current knowledge of best practices in school-based occupational therapy
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct OT services to students as outlined in their IEPs
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and document progress
- Consult with teachers and families to support student participation and achievement
- Determine appropriate interventions and recommend adaptations for classroom or school environments
- Monitor, evaluate, and adjust therapy approaches according to student progress
