Job Description

A full-time, onsite School Psychologist is needed for a contract position spanning from ASAP through the end of June 2027. Collaborate with dedicated educational staff and work directly with students to foster a positive learning atmosphere near Chesapeake, VA.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
- Master’s or higher degree in School Psychology or a related field
- Experience with psychological assessments, counseling, and intervention strategies in a school setting
- Strong communication and consultation skills with students, staff, and families
- Knowledge of special education processes and laws
- Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
- Professionalism, integrity, and a collaborative spirit
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Provide direct counseling services to individuals and groups
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop strategies and interventions
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support student success
- Contribute to the development and implementation of IEPs and 504 plans
- Offer crisis intervention and support as needed
- Maintain thorough and confidential student records in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations
