Mercy is seeking a Clinical Education Specialist (RN) to support the onboarding, education, competency validation, and ongoing professional development of nursing and clinical co-workers. This role is ideal for an experienced nurse who is passionate about teaching, mentoring, and driving excellence in patient care through evidence-based practice and innovative learning strategies.\n

\nThe Clinical Education Specialist serves as a key resource for nursing staff, leaders, and interdisciplinary teams by developing and delivering educational programs that promote clinical excellence, patient safety, and a positive patient experience. This position supports orientation programs, competency validation, performance improvement initiatives, and continuing education for both licensed and unlicensed healthcare professionals.\n

Minimum Requirements

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Bachelor's degree in Nursing with 3 years of critical care nursing experience, or

  • \n
  • \n

    Associate degree in Nursing with:

    \n
      \n
    • \n

      10 years of hospital nursing experience, OR

    • \n
    • \n

      5 years of hospital nursing experience and active enrollment in an RN-to-BSN program

    • \n
    • \n

      At least 3 years of critical care nursing experience is a must.

    • \n
  • \n
  • \n

    Current applicable state nursing license.

  • \n
  • \n

    Current AHA BLS certification.

  • \n
  • \n

    Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practice and the ability to positively influence patient care delivery.

  • \n
  • \n

    Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

  • \n
  • \n

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • \n
  • \n

    Knowledge of patient care equipment and clinical technology.

  • \n
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Specialty certification or active pursuit of certification related to area of responsibility.

  • \n
  • \n

    Two years of teaching or educational experience.

  • \n
  • \n

    Additional life support certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, TNCC, and/or ENPC.
