Job Description
Kforce has a client in Baltimore, MD that is seeking an Accounting Analyst. Key Responsibilities: Manage fixed asset accounting, including asset additions, transfers, retirements, and disposals Track and monitor capital project expenditures to ensure proper capitalization and accounting treatment Review project costs and determine appropriate classification between capital and operating expenses Maintain the fixed asset subledger and reconcile to the general ledger Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities Assist with depreciation calculations and reporting Partner with project managers, operations, and finance teams to ensure accurate project cost tracking Support internal and external audit requests related to fixed assets and capital projects Assist with process improvement initiatives and documentation of accounting procedures Analyze large data sets and prepare financial reports for management Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably with fixed assets, capital projects, or general ledger accounting Strong understanding of GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles Experience with account reconciliations and month-end close processes Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis Experience working in a large corporate environment preferred Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities ERP experience required (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365, Workday, or similar) Preferred: CPA or CPA-track preferred Experience supporting large-scale capital projects Knowledge of construction-in-progress (CIP) accounting Experience with fixed asset management systems and reporting tools Key Competencies: Attention to Detail Financial Analysis Project Accounting Reconciliations Process Improvement Time Management Cross-Functional Collaboration Data Integrity & Accuracy The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
