Job Description
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a full-time Special Education Teacher in a self-contained classroom setting. This rewarding contract position centers on supporting learners with mild disabilities in an engaging educational environment, located near Fishers, IN.
The ideal professional will join a dedicated academic community and work with a maximum of twelve students, providing personalized instruction and fostering an environment in which every child can thrive. The assignment runs from August 3, 2026, to June 7, 2027, with a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week, all onsite.
Key qualifications:
- Valid and active Indiana teaching license in Special Education (proof required during application)
- Experience working with students with mild disabilities preferred
- Ability to create and deliver individualized educational programs
- Excellent communication and behavioral management skills
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and academic success within the classroom setting
Primary responsibilities:
- Support and instruct a self-contained classroom for students in grades served at Tenth Street Elementary
- Develop, implement, and document Individualized Education Plans (IEP) tailored to each student’s needs
- Track student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly
- Provide a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education staff, paraprofessionals, and families to promote consistent student growth
- Offer encouragement, guidance, and innovative support for all enrolled learners
