This contract opportunity serves 1st through 3rd-grade students, requiring a skilled educator with a compassionate and proactive approach. The role is located near Hurst, focusing on a classroom of four students whose needs are complex and require specialized behavioral intervention strategies.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification
  • Experience working with students exhibiting severe behavior challenges
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement individualized behavior intervention plans
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
  • Ability to remain patient, adaptable, and resourceful in fast-changing situations

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and behavioral support to a small group of students in grades 1–3
  • Develop and maintain individualized education plans targeting unique behavioral and academic needs
  • Implement CPI strategies and best practices to maintain a safe, supportive learning environment
  • Monitor, chart, and report on student behavior and progress with precision
  • Collaborate closely with support staff, related service providers, and families to promote positive outcomes
  • Utilize de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques to encourage student growth
