The role is located near Hurst, focusing on a classroom of four students whose needs are complex and require specialized behavioral intervention strategies.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with students exhibiting severe behavior challenges
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement individualized behavior intervention plans
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to remain patient, adaptable, and resourceful in fast-changing situations
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and behavioral support to a small group of students in grades 1–3
- Develop and maintain individualized education plans targeting unique behavioral and academic needs
- Implement CPI strategies and best practices to maintain a safe, supportive learning environment
- Monitor, chart, and report on student behavior and progress with precision
- Collaborate closely with support staff, related service providers, and families to promote positive outcomes
- Utilize de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques to encourage student growth
