About Our Emergency Department

Located in the scenic town of Brevard, North Carolina, our critical access hospital features a 16-bed Emergency Department, which includes 4 vertical chairs and 4 treatment rooms that can be adapted for behavioral health needs. We deliver acute care to patients facing a diverse range of medical issues, from chest and abdominal pain to fractures and infections.

Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse will provide leadership that facilitates the delivery of professional nursing care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients. This role involves utilizing the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to deliver, delegate, supervise, and document patient care and education for both patients and their families. Medically prescribed interventions will also be implemented.

Qualifications Required

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program, with a commitment to obtain a BSN within five years of starting the RN position. Grandfathering is accepted between departments and entities. Extensions may be granted by the facility's Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and reported to the CNO Council. Facilities will track exemptions as needed. RNs with over ten years of experience are exempt.
• License: Current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing is required. An eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply; candidates should verify with the NCBON. Registered Nurse licensure must be obtained within 30 days of employment commencement.
• Certification: BLS Healthcare Provider certification is necessary.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of nursing experience in a hospital setting is required.
