As a Systems Engineer – DSP Algorithms, you'll contribute to the design, development, verification, and deployment of advanced digital communication systems for satellite and space applications. Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams, customers, suppliers, and program leaders, you'll help create innovative solutions that support critical missions from concept through in-orbit operations.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Design and develop next-generation RF and digital satellite communication systems

  • Create, model, and verify advanced digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms

  • Develop multi-rate, fixed-point signal processing solutions

  • Perform waveform development, analysis, and characterization

  • Conduct trade studies to optimize system performance and architecture

  • Analyze and validate communication system performance through simulation and testing

  • Support detailed system architecture, requirements development, allocation, and verification

  • Participate in payload, spacecraft, and communication subsystem integration and testing

  • Support hardware implementation efforts involving FPGA and ASIC technologies

  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, integration teams, and program stakeholders

  • Contribute to system development from concept studies through operational deployment

  • Lead or support research and development initiatives that advance future technologies


Required Qualifications

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • Bachelor's degree in:

    • Engineering

    • Engineering Technology

    • Computer Science

    • Mathematics

    • Physics

    • Chemistry

    • Data Science

    • Or a related technical discipline

  • Experience with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and digital communications algorithms, including:

    • Equalization

    • Turbo Coding

    • Viterbi Coding/Decoding

    • Channel Estimation

    • Filter Design

    • Resampling Theory

  • 3+ years of experience using MATLAB and/or Simulink

  • 5+ years of experience in digital communications and signal processing theory

  • 3+ years of systems engineering experience involving:

    • Requirements definition

    • Requirements allocation

    • System verification

    • Architecture development

    • Trade studies

  • 1+ years of experience working with FPGA or ASIC technologies

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates may also possess:

  • Experience using laboratory and test equipment, including:

    • Oscilloscopes

    • Waveform generators

    • Spectrum analyzers

  • Experience leading engineering teams or technical initiatives

  • Experience supporting satellite, aerospace, defense, or communications programs

  • Understanding of spacecraft payload development and integration

  • Advanced systems modeling and simulation experience

  • 9+ years of related engineering experience

  • Master's degree or PhD in a relevant technical field

Pay Details: $80.00 to $97.00 per hour
