Job Description
Step into a meaningful Special Education role in a supportive elementary school environment! This full-time contract opportunity, located near Noblesville, IN, runs from August 3, 2026, through June 7, 2027. You’ll lead a self-contained classroom designed for students with mild disabilities, creating an inclusive and engaging learning atmosphere for currently 12 enrolled students.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Indiana Special Education Teaching license (please be ready to provide documentation)
- Experience teaching in special education settings, ideally with similar student populations
- Encouraging communication skills with the ability to collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families
- Creativity and adaptability in modifying curriculum to meet individual needs
- A commitment to fostering the social, emotional, and academic growth of each student
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to a self-contained class of elementary students with mild disabilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that promote student success
- Assess progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary to support diverse learning needs
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment focused on inclusion and personal growth
- Communicate proactively with families, other educators, and staff to ensure student progress and well-being
- Maintain accurate and timely records as required by school and district guidelines
