Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (appropriate for middle school level)
• Previous experience with intensive intervention or self-contained classrooms, preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
• Ability to develop and differentiate instruction tailored to individual student needs
• Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with families, paraprofessionals, and support staff
• Patience, flexibility, and a keen passion for helping students overcome challenging barriers to learning

Core Responsibilities:

• Design and lead individualized and small-group lessons for students requiring intense support
• Manage an 8-student caseload, ensuring all services outlined in IEPs are delivered and monitored
• Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and families to build effective support plans and behavioral interventions
• Keep accurate records for compliance, reporting, and progress monitoring
• Create a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment that encourages student engagement and independence
• Use data-driven approaches to adapt strategies and measure student progress
