Special Education Teacher in West Hartford, CT

Full-time availability is required, with positions running from August 2026 through June 2027. There are three openings: one focusing on kindergarten support, another for grades 1-2, and a third serving as a 7th-grade resource/case manager. All roles are in-person, providing hands-on engagement and daily impact.

Qualifications & Experience Sought:

• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification (or eligibility to obtain in Connecticut)
• Experience working with elementary or middle school students with diverse learning needs
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt instruction
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive educational environment
• Flexibility and creativity in problem-solving and lesson planning
• Prior experience in resource or case management roles is highly valued

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students on your caseload
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with related service providers and families
• Consult with general education teachers to support differentiation and student success
• Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and IEP documentation
• Communicate regularly with students’ families to celebrate achievements and address needs
• Participate in professional development and team meetings as needed
