Special Education Teacher | Richland Center, Wisconsin

A full-time contract opportunity is available for a skilled Special Education Teacher ready to make a significant difference for high school students. This role, serving grades 9-12, spans the academic year from August 18, 2026, to June 3, 2027, with standard Monday through Friday scheduling.

The ideal candidate brings both experience and passion for working with a cross-categorical caseload, supporting an estimated 16-20 students. You’ll have the crucial support of two assigned educational assistants to help meet student needs and maintain a supportive learning environment. This position is perfect for educators who are organized, collaborative, and thrive in dynamic settings.

Qualifications:

• Valid and active Wisconsin Special Education teaching certification/license
• Previous experience with high school students or cross-categorical caseloads preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with staff, students, and families
• Ability to adapt instruction to address diverse learning abilities and needs

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver differentiated instruction aligned with IEP goals
• Monitor, assess, and document student progress; adjust interventions as needed
• Collaborate closely with educational assistants, general education staff, and related service personnel
• Maintain accurate records and facilitate IEP meetings and parent conferences
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment supporting student growth and well-being
• Communicate regularly and effectively with families and school staff
