Position Overview:

This role involves assisting in procedures aimed at evaluating, diagnosing, and treating the cardiovascular system. The position includes performing specialized imaging tasks such as angiography, complex vascular and non-vascular procedures, as well as neuro-interventional and therapeutic interventions, while supporting the Radiologist or Physician Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To qualify for a Multiple Modality position, a minimum of 30% of Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) work must be in a secondary modality.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by reviewing their medical history, positioning them appropriately, and preparing testing sites as necessary.
  • Interpret, describe, and report on test outcomes; identify recording errors and artifacts, responding appropriately.
  • Maintain and prepare equipment, supplies, and the lab area, ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly. Report any issues or malfunctions to the relevant personnel and lock/tag out equipment when necessary.
  • Assist in keeping the department clean and organized.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications in accordance with the accepted scope of practice and relevant regulations.
  • Monitor patients during procedures and report any unusual activity. Review protocols and suggest updates or improvements as needed.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with standards set by regulatory agencies.
  • May conduct point-of-care testing following established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a state of alertness and safety at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION
  • Completion of a Cardiovascular or Radiology Technology program.
EXPERIENCE
  • No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Demands:
  • Constantly standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
  • Regularly using hearing and speech for effective oral communication.
  • Frequent listening to identify body sounds and/or detect alarms and equipment malfunctions.
  • Regular lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting and moving of patients.
  • Regular reaching, gripping, and data entry on a keyboard.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional visual tasks requiring color identification and differentiation.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms.
  • Rarely kneeling or sitting.
