Position: Travel ED Charge Nurse

Location: Lewiston, Maine

Department: Emergency Services

Available Shifts: Day and Night

Compensation: Up to $1,491 – $2,067 gross pay weekly; equivalent to $41.44 – $57.43 per hour.

Assignment Duration: 12 weeks

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise ED operations and nursing personnel during assigned shifts, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and adherence to regulations.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments effectively.
  • Guide, mentor, and support the development of nursing staff.
  • Assist with performance evaluations and HR-related tasks.
  • Monitor supplies, equipment, and overall unit readiness; coordinate patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Address patient care issues and escalate concerns as necessary.
  • Engage with patients and families to foster a positive experience.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed to ensure adequate staffing levels.
Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Training:

  1. Valid RN License in the state.
  2. Current BLS certification (AHA) upon hire and maintain throughout employment.
  3. Current ACLS certification (AHA) upon hire and maintain throughout employment.
  4. At least one year of experience as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital, specifically in the Emergency Department.
  5. PALS certification (AHA) upon hire and maintain throughout employment.
  6. Previous supervisory experience is required.
  7. Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, specifically in the Emergency Department.
