Step into a rewarding role supporting exceptional learners as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant school community near Madison, NC. This full-time, contract position runs from early August through late May, providing you with a consistent schedule and the chance to make a difference in the lives of students who benefit from an inclusive and resource-driven environment. You’ll work Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM, managing a caseload of 20-25 students who follow the general curriculum.

As an EC Teacher, you’ll partner with another dedicated special educator on campus, ensuring students receive individualized attention and the services outlined in their IEPs. Your expertise will help shape instructional strategies in both pull-out and inclusion settings, providing academic and behavioral support in reading, math, and beyond.

What we’re looking for:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (required)
  • Experience with IEP writing, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Comfortable managing a caseload of around 20-25 students
  • Strong collaboration skills for working with another EC teacher
  • Knowledge of supporting students on the general curriculum
  • Ability to deliver instruction in both resource (pull-out) and inclusion models
  • Excellent organizational abilities to schedule and facilitate IEP meetings

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Serving as case manager for students with IEPs
  • Scheduling, holding, and writing IEPs for your caseload
  • Providing direct services according to IEP requirements
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress on IEP goals
  • Collaborating closely with staff and families to support student success
