Multiple Special Education teaching roles are available for the 2026-27 academic year, spanning a variety of specialties, grade levels, and settings. Whether you’re an expert in cognitive disabilities, emotional-behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, or specific learning disabilities—or bring general special education experience—there’s an opening where your work will truly matter.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid and active Minnesota teaching license required (must be currently licensed to teach in MN)
  • Experience working in special education settings (Setting 1–4) is strongly preferred
  • Must verify previous employment with the district; candidates should have a record of positive professional relationships
  • Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices for students with disabilities
  • Ability to build rapport with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Dedicated to inclusive, differentiated instruction and data-driven decision making

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver specialized instruction for students with various disabilities, aligned with individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Assess students’ strengths and needs; adapt curriculum and teaching methods accordingly
  • Implement behavioral strategies and interventions as needed
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant documentation, timelines, and legal regulations
  • Uphold a supportive, respectful, and safe classroom environment

Multiple roles are available across different sites, with most requiring in-person support—hybrid options may be considered for some. Positions include: Developmental Cognitive Disabilities, Emotional-Behavioral Disorders, Autism, Specific Learning Disabilities, and general Special Education, with a total of ten openings.
