Make a difference every day by helping students thrive! A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher seeking a full-time role for the upcoming academic year. You’ll work closely with a fellow Special Education Teacher, collaboratively supporting approximately 20-25 students in an EC resource pull-out/inclusion program, all following the general curriculum.
The school year is anticipated to run from early August through late May, with a consistent Monday-Friday schedule from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm. In this role, you’ll serve as a caseload manager, making a lasting impact by supporting individualized student learning and growth.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field (required)
- Active state Special Education licensure/certification (required)
- Experience with EC resource/inclusion models strongly preferred
- Proficient in writing, reviewing, and scheduling IEPs
- Skilled in ongoing progress monitoring and data-driven instruction
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school teams
- Strong communication, organizational, and advocacy abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of 20-25 students, serving as their primary case manager
- Schedule, convene, and conduct IEP meetings
- Write IEPs tailored to student learning goals
- Deliver IEP service time in reading, math, behavior, and other needed areas
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborate with a second EC teacher and general education staff for optimal student support
