Special Education Teacher | Lamar, South Carolina

This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to work in self-contained and resource classrooms, supporting a multi-categorical caseload. Your expertise will guide learners in K-2 self-contained settings as well as middle school multi-categorical environments, helping students develop academically and socially.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience supporting elementary (K-2) and/or middle school students with multiple disabilities
• Skilled in developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Proficient in modifying curriculum to meet a variety of learning needs
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills

What You’ll Do:

• Provide individualized instruction and interventions for students in self-contained and resource classroom settings
• Design and adapt lesson plans for multi-categorical learners in both lower elementary (K-2) and middle school grades
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with legal and school requirements
• Lead or participate in IEP meetings to set goals and address student needs
• Foster a supportive, positive classroom atmosphere focused on growth and inclusion
• Guide paraprofessionals and collaborate closely with families and support staff
