Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a part or fully qualified accountant to join a leading not-for-profit organisation, taking ownership of financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end processes, and the leadership of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams. You'll play a key role in strengthening financial controls, driving process improvements, and supporting the organisation's wider mission through high-quality finance operations.

- Lead and oversee the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions \n
- Manage reconciliations, financial controls, and reporting across AP/AR \n
- Prepare journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly management accounts \n
- Support month-end and year-end close processes \n
- Assist with statutory accounts preparation and external audits \n
- Complete bank reconciliations and support cashflow management \n
- Support VAT returns and ensure compliance with accounting and charity regulations \n
- Identify and implement process and system improvements \n
- Lead, coach, and develop finance team members \n
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation \n
Profile
\nYou'll be a proactive finance professional with strong technical accounting skills and experience operating in a complex finance environment.
\n\n- \n
- Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA or equivalent) \n
- Financial accounting experience within a large organisation \n
- Experience managing Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable functions \n
- Strong knowledge of reconciliations, journals, VAT, month-end and year-end processes \n
- Previous experience leading or supervising finance staff \n
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills \n
- High attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines \n

- Charity sector experience \n
- Knowledge of Charity SORP \n
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle or similar \n
Job Offer

- Salary ranging from £46,000 to £48,000, dependent on the level of experience. \n
- 12 month Fixed-term contract based in Birmingham. \n
