Assistant Accountant | £33,000 - £36,000 + study support package | Bolton region

The Opportunity

Outstanding opportunity for an ambitious Finance Assistant / Assistant Accountant looking for career development and progression.

If you are 6-12 months into your accountancy career and looking for more development and progression than you are getting now we would be keen to speak.

You are joining a profitable and growing business, a modern SME (£20m turnover).

The role will offer you the chance to rapidly develop your accounting experience and knowledge (alongside your professional qualifications).

You are working for a forward-thinking, encouraging and approachable Finance Director who will give you structured training and mentoring.

Your initial remit will include all areas of transactional finance / month end related duties (AP / AR / bank reconciliation, VAT returns, accruals and prepayments, journals etc) and you will swiftly progress into management accounting and added value reporting.

You will ideally be studying toward AAT and hoping to progress through CIMA / ACCA (or perhaps have an accounting degree and be looking to push onto the next level).

It’s a thriving business amid a period of exciting investment. You’ll be involved in a new system installation (very valuable experience for your CV) and have chance to enhance the current processes and reporting (again highly impressive CV achievements), it’s also a PE backed business which opens more doors downstream in your career.

Required:

• Relevant degree or AAT (level 3 minimum) – ideally someone looking to go on to study ACCA or CIMA
\n
• Experience of transactional accounting / bookkeeping (from either practice or industry) – knowledge of purchase ledger, sales ledger, journalling etc.
\n
• Great Excel skills and general confidence in your IT skills.
\n
• Keenness to learn and progress – a proactive and calm approach to learning new tasks and solving new problems.
