QED Legal's client is looking to appoint a Family Partner to establish and grow its Family offering in York as part of a wider national growth strategy. This is a rare opportunity to join a highly ambitious commercial law firm that continues to invest heavily in both organic growth and strategic acquisitions. This isn't a succession role or a replacement hire. It's a strategic appointment for an experienced Family lawyer who wants the autonomy, backing and platform to build something significant. The successful individual will work with an established client base while helping to develop the firm's Family practice across North Yorkshire, supported by a nationally recognised brand and an extensive network of private client, corporate and commercial lawyers generating quality referrals. The role will include:\n

• Advising high-net-worth individuals, business owners and professionals on a broad range of Family matters.
\n
• Managing complex financial remedy cases involving businesses, pensions, trusts and significant assets.
\n
• Advising on private children matters, cohabitation disputes and pre and post-nuptial agreements.
\n
• Working closely with Private Client, Corporate and Real Estate teams to provide joined-up advice to clients.
\n
• Developing relationships with accountants, financial advisers and other professional referrers.
\n
• Playing a key role in the strategic growth of the Family department across the region.
\n
• Mentoring junior lawyers and helping develop the next generation of talent.
\n

To be considered, you'll ideally have:\n

\n
• Qualified Solicitor with 8+ years PQE in Family Law.
\n
• Strong experience advising high-net-worth individuals on complex Family matters.
\n
• Demonstrable commercial awareness and a genuine interest in helping grow a practice.
\n
• An established professional network and a track record of developing client relationships.
\n
• Excellent technical, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
\n
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience would be advantageous.
\n
• A client following would be welcomed but is not essential for the right individual.
\n
