Paraplanner
Job Description
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paraplanner to join one of the UK's leading independent wealth management businesses, working within a specialist Private Wealth team that advises high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families and international clients.
\nThis is a genuinely different opportunity from a traditional IFA environment. Rather than focusing heavily on pensions, protection and mortgages, you'll become part of a sophisticated wealth management team delivering holistic financial planning alongside discretionary investment management, providing clients with a fully integrated approach to preserving, growing and transferring wealth.
\nYou'll work alongside highly experienced Wealth Advisers, Investment Managers and technical specialists, supporting a dedicated portfolio of complex private clients with investable assets typically starting from around £5 million and extending well beyond £50 million.
\n\nThe Opportunity
\nThis role offers exposure to an exceptionally high calibre of client and work. You'll support advisers with complex wealth planning cases, produce high-quality technical reports and suitability letters, undertake detailed research and cashflow modelling, and play an active role in client meetings and ongoing relationship management.
\nUnlike many paraplanning roles, there is significant client interaction, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships and wants to become more involved in the advisory process.
\nThis is an ideal move for someone looking to broaden their technical expertise and gain exposure to sophisticated wealth planning strategies, investment management and complex financial structures that are rarely encountered within a traditional financial planning practice.
\n\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Produce detailed suitability reports and annual review documentation. \n
- Prepare technical research and complex financial planning analysis. \n
- Create cashflow models and support long-term financial planning strategies. \n
- Work closely with Wealth Advisers on complex client cases. \n
- Attend client meetings and assist with follow-up actions. \n
- Act as a technical point of contact for clients, providers and professional connections. \n
- Liaise with in-house Investment Managers to deliver integrated wealth management solutions. \n
- Ensure all advice is technically accurate, compliant and clearly documented. \n
About You
\nYou'll already be an experienced Paraplanner with a strong technical background and enjoy working directly with both clients and advisers.
\n\nYou'll ideally possess:
\n- \n
- Diploma in Financial Planning (Level 4) or above. \n
- A desire to progress towards Chartered or Certified Financial Planner status. \n
- At least 3-4 years' paraplanning experience within financial planning or wealth management. \n
- Excellent report writing and technical research skills. \n
- Strong understanding of the UK financial planning process and regulatory framework. \n
- Experience using financial planning software and cashflow modelling tools. \n
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills. \n
- The confidence to work with high-net-worth clients and professional introducers. \n
What's on Offer
\n- \n
- Salary of £50,000-£60,000 depending on experience. \n
- Historically excellent discretionary bonus (often exceeding 20% of basic salary). \n
- Comprehensive benefits package. \n
- Hybrid working (3 days office / 2 days home). \n
- Structured training and professional development. \n
- Support towards Chartered or Certified Financial Planner status. \n
- Exposure to sophisticated UK and international private wealth clients. \n
- Genuine long-term career progression within a highly respected wealth management business. \n
Why Apply?
\nThis is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious Paraplanner looking to take the next significant step in their career. You'll gain exposure to complex, high-value client work, develop expertise that extends far beyond traditional financial planning, and join a business renowned for investing in its people and promoting from within.
\nStaff retention is exceptionally strong, reflecting the firm's collaborative culture, technical excellence and genuine commitment to long-term career development. If you're looking for a role that will challenge you, broaden your expertise and accelerate your progression within private wealth management, we'd love to hear from you.
