Production Operative - Chill Area

Straight Forward Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of their client for Production Operatives to work within the chilled production area of a pet food manufacturing facility.

You will be responsible for handling frozen and chilled raw meat products in accordance with company procedures and food safety standards.

Key duties include:

• Loading frozen blocks of raw meat into industrial grinders and processing equipment.
\n
• Handling and moving chilled and frozen raw materials safely using manual handling techniques or approved equipment.
\n
• Weighing and adding ingredients to production mixers following production specifications.
\n
• Monitoring production processes and ensuring products are prepared to the required quality standards.
\n
• Maintaining cleanliness of the work area and equipment throughout the shift in line with hygiene and food safety procedures.
\n
• Following Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and HACCP procedures at all times.
\n
• Working in a temperature-controlled chilled environment for the duration of the shift.
\n
• Assisting with general production duties as required to support the manufacturing process.
\n

• Temperature-controlled chill area (typically 2–8°C).
\n
• Regular handling of frozen raw meat products.
\n
• Physically demanding role involving lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
\n
• Appropriate PPE will be provided and must be worn at all times.
\n

• Monday to Friday

• 07:00 - 17:00
\n

• £12.71 per hour
\n

\n
• Previous experience in food production, food processing, manufacturing or working in a chilled environment is preferred but not essential.
\n
• Comfortable working with raw meat products in a chilled environment.
\n
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
\n
• Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
\n
• Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling duties safely.
\n

• Own transport is essential due to the location of the site, as there is no public transport available.
\n
• This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, with permanent positions available for the right individuals based on attendance, performance, and business requirements.
