Category Specialist | West London | £500 per day UmbrellaLocation: West LondonRate: £500 per day (Umbrella)Contract: 3 months ongoingHours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pmWorking Arrangement: To be confirmed Vox Consultants are recruiting for an experienced Category Specialist to join a West London local authority on an initial 3-month ongoing contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to lead end-to-end procurement activity, deliver value for money, and support strategic procurement across a range of council categories. The Role You will be responsible for:\n

• Leading end-to-end procurement projects across allocated categories.
\n
• Providing expert procurement advice to senior stakeholders.
\n
• Developing category plans and sourcing strategies that deliver value for money.
\n
• Managing supplier relationships and contract performance.
\n
• Ensuring procurement activity complies with legislation and council procurement regulations.
\n
• Working collaboratively with commissioners, finance, legal and operational teams to deliver successful procurement outcomes.
\n
• Supporting continuous improvement, innovation and best practice within the procurement function.
\n

About You The successful candidate will have:\n

\n
• Previous experience working within public sector procurement, MUST BE within a local authority.
\n
• CIPS qualification (or equivalent experience), with progression towards CIPS desirable.
\n
• Strong knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing and contract management.
\n
• Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
\n
• Experience managing end-to-end procurement exercises and delivering compliant procurement solutions.
\n
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
\n
