Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a Food Logistics Provider based in London. The Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all Import and Export Shipping operations for all Food products. The main to day responsibilities:Manage daily shipping, receiving, and transportation activities for imported natural and specialty food products. Coordinate international and domestic shipments with freight forwarders, ocean carriers, trucking companies, customs brokers, and warehouse partners. Monitor shipment schedules and proactively resolve delays, shortages, damaged goods, or transportation issues. Ensure compliance with applicable food import and transportation regulations. Review and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs documentation. Track inventory movement and coordinate with warehouse operations to ensure accurate receiving and distribution. Work closely with Purchasing, Sales, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service teams to meet customer delivery expectations. Negotiate freight rates and evaluate carrier performance to optimize transportation costs and service levels. Monitor shipping expenses and assist with budgeting and freight cost analysis. Develop and maintain shipping procedures that improve efficiency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance. Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), warehouses, and transportation vendors. Investigate shipping discrepancies and implement corrective actions to minimize recurring issues. Supervise shipping staff and provide coaching, training, and performance management as needed. Maintain accurate shipping records and generate operational reports and key performance metrics. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on supply chain efficiency, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. A Degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be an advantage and must have 5 years plus in Shipping, Logistics or Supply Chain and preferably within Food Distribution.TPBN1_UKTJ
