Location: Construction site based 2 days per week and working offsite 3 days per week with the supply base as and where required.
Duration: Approved 31dec26 (high probability of renewal)
Status: Contract *Inside IR35*
Rates: Competitive all-inclusive
Reports to: Quality Delivery Manager
\n Morson Edge are working with a major player within the Energy Sector who have a current contract requirement for a Quality Management Lead (Electrical bias) to join their established team. All work is associated with Europe's largest infrastructure/construction project underway in Somerset.
Broad scope/role purpose

  • QMLs sit within the Quality Management Team and are deployed to Programmes to serve this primary purpose.
  • \n
  • Work carried out by QML's supports the overall Project Quality programme in achieving adherence with the Integrated Management System arrangements, putting in place additional project-specific arrangements as required and managing quality for all activities within their scope of the programme.

  • Support the development of quality (QA/QC) arrangements for deployment across the organisation.
  • \n
  • Implement key quality arrangements related to the following topics where applicable to your assigned scope of work:

Manage Quality Execution
\n Support Technical Assessment of Suppliers
\n Conducting Manufacturing Surveillance
\n Modulating Manufacturing Surveillance
\n Management of Non-Conformances
\n Quality Release Certificate Process

  • Review, accept and monitor Contractors Quality Assurance Plans (CQAP) provided by the supply chain.
  • \n
  • Produce Project Quality Control Plans (PQCP) for each contract.
  • \n
  • In compliance with the PQCP, ensure deployment of key quality contractual arrangements including the General Quality Assurance Specification (GQAS), Lifetime Quality Records Specification (LTQR), Quality Release Certificate (QRC) and the Inspection & Test Plan Specification (ITP) etc.
  • \n
  • Ensure manufacturing surveillance per contract is applied in a graded approach of equipment safety function and project importance through surveillance offers and performance monitoring of the inspection agencies used
  • \n
  • Where applicable, establish and check planned inspection witness and hold points marked in the supplier Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) / Quality Plans / Follow Up Documents (FUDs) and monitor their completion.
  • \n
  • Coordinate, monitor and improve the efficiency of manufacturing documentation review and where applicable, inspection activities performed by contracted inspection entities.
  • \n
  • Support the review and acceptance of End of Manufacturing Reports (EoMR), End of Construction Status Reports (ECSR) and End of Erection Status Reports (EESR).
  • \n
  • Responsible for the review and delivery of the end of manufacturing records, leading to the quality release of equipment to the HPC construction site.

Criteria

\n
    \n
  • Typically HNC/HND qualification or degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent qualification.
  • \n
  • Broad experience of implementing a variety of quality related solutions
  • \n
  • Proven track record of delivering results
  • \n
  • Proven leadership experience working in a quality assurance/control environment within the nuclear industry or other relevant safety critical industry.
  • \n
  • Proven experience of interaction and resolving issues with a wide range of stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment.
  • \n
  • Certified professional member of a Quality organisation (desirable)
  • \n
