Assistant Financial Accountant

Additionally role assists in the preparation of monthly management accounts, preparing annual financial statements under FRS 102 and tax complianceYour key responsibilities are Accounting & Monthly Financial Reporting Processes:Support the Groups month-end processes, posting month end journals; consolidation adjustments, prepayments, accruals and fixed asset journals as well as other ad-hoc journals as required.Reconciliation of intercompany balances across the group and resolution of differences.Preparation of the monthly consolidation file and summary financial information.Preparation of monthly management accounts and board packs.Preparation of company balance sheet reconciliations.Maintain fixed asset registers.Accounting & Tax Compliance:Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements under FRS102 to meet the Groups statutory reporting requirements.Support the external audit process, dealing with queries in a timely manner as required for relevant areas.Ensure all processes undertaken are adequately documented and adhered to in compliance with the Groups Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) control environment.Assist with the preparation of annual Corporation Tax returns for submission to HMRC.Preparation of P11Ds and PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) tax calculations relating to employee benefits for submission annually to HMRC.Any other duties as required by the manager.Qualifications AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA or equivalent.Experience/Knowledge Can demonstrate an understanding of financial accounting either through previous work experience or study.Abilities/Skills Organised and capable of managing own workload to key deadlines.Highly numerate and able to work with accuracy.Works collaboratively and builds strong relationships with others both internally and externally.Customer Focus delivers a consistently high quality service to external and internal stakeholders.Communication Focus demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a range of people.Desirable Experience of preparation of monthly accounts for a group of companies.Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly ExcelWhat can you expect from usCost of living annual pay review.Company pension contributions up to 10% if employees contribute 5%.33 days holiday including bank holidays with the ability to purchase an additional 2 weeks.Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption pay.To say thank you, each time you successfully refer someone you will receive a referral payment of £1000 (net of tax).Hybrid working for eligible roles.Development opportunities to reach your career aspirations.BUUK has an award-winning culture.
