Location: On-site Fabrication Shop in Birtley, Gateshead
Hours: 40 hours per week
Rate: Dependent on experience paid via CIS
Employment Type: Temporary to Permanent
\n We are looking for an experienced Coded Welder to join an established fabrication team. The successful candidate will work alongside the Fabrication & Welding Manager, welding stainless steel tanks, stainless steel pipework and mild steel frames.
\n The main requirement is strong experience in FCAW/Flux Core welding, with candidates ideally coded to ASME Section IX for Carbon Steel. Experience with GTAW/TIG welding of 316L stainless steel is also desirable.
\nKey Responsibilities\n

- \n
- Weld and fabricate components from engineering and technical drawings. \n
- Carry out welding to the required standards and specifications. \n
- Prepare, grind and finish materials and completed products. \n
- Complete quality checks on finished work. \n
- Use a range of fabrication and welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, plasma cutters and hand tools. \n
- Assist with general fabrication tasks as required. \n
- Work efficiently to meet strict deadlines and agreed targets. \n
- Maintain high standards of quality and comply with all safety, HSEQ and company procedures. \n
\nRequirements\n

- Demonstrable experience in a similar welding/fabrication role. \n
- Strong FCAW/Flux Core welding experience. \n
- Previous ASME IX coding preferred, ideally for carbon steel. \n
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings. \n
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic. \n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team. \n
- Good communication skills and a proactive attitude. \n
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when required. \n
- Eligible to work permanently in the UK. \n
- Full UK driving licence. \n
