Head of Finance Operations

Job Title: Head of Finance Operations (FinOps) - Office based role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance Operations (FinOps) to lead and modernise our end-to-end finance operations function. This senior leadership role will oversee high-volume transactional finance activities including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll Operations, and Transaction Processing, whilst driving operational excellence, automation, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in transforming finance operations through process optimisation, AI-enabled efficiencies, and the effective use of technology, ensuring robust financial controls, compliance, accuracy, and exceptional service delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to build a scalable, shared-services style finance function that supports the continued growth of a multi-site healthcare organisation.

Finance Operations Leadership

• Lead the day-to-day management of finance operations, including:\n

  • Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Payroll Operations
  \n
  • Transaction Processing
  \n
\n
• Develop and maintain a high-performing, customer-focused Finance Operations function with clear KPIs, SLAs, and accountability measures.

• Design and implement a scalable operating model to support business growth and evolving organisational needs.
\n
• Partner closely with FP&A, Commercial Finance, HR, Procurement, Home Managers, and wider operational teams.
\n

Process Optimisation & Transformation

\n
• Review, redesign, and enhance finance processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, control, and scalability.
\n
• Identify opportunities to standardise, simplify, and automate finance workflows.
\n
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
\n
• Reduce manual intervention, duplication, and process inefficiencies through workflow redesign and technology adoption.
\n
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the finance function.
\n

Automation & AI Enablement

• Identify and implement AI-enabled solutions for high-volume, repetitive finance activities.

• Lead automation initiatives across:\n

  • Invoice processing

  • Reconciliations
  \n
  • Exception management
  \n
  • Cash allocation
  \n
  • Payroll validation
  \n
  • Reporting workflows
  \n

• Evaluate emerging finance technologies and recommend practical solutions aligned to business objectives.

• Drive measurable improvements in productivity, efficiency, and service delivery through automation.

Finance Systems & NetSuite Optimisation

• Act as the Finance Operations lead for NetSuite optimisation, process improvements, and user adoption.

• Work closely with IT and external partners to enhance:\n

  • System workflows/Integrations/Reporting capability/Controls automation/Data quality

Controls, Governance & Compliance

Maintain strong financial controls across all transactional finance activities.

• Ensure compliance with internal policies, financial regulations, and statutory requirements.
