Adjudications ManagerLocation: Central London (hybrid)Contract: Permanent | Part-time (4 days per week)Salary: £60000 (£48000 pro rata)The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Adjudications Manager to join a specialist legal and regulatory team. This role is ideal for a professional with experience managing hearings, tribunals or adjudication functions who is looking to play a key role in ensuring the fair, lawful and efficient delivery of disciplinary and appeal proceedings within a respected regulatory organisation.The Role Reporting to the Registrar and Director of Legal Services, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of disciplinary and appeal hearings, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, procedural rules and internal policies. You will work closely with committee members, legal advisers, registrants and internal stakeholders to deliver hearings that are transparent, efficient and robust. The role will also support the ongoing development of the hearings function as regulatory legislation evolves, ensuring processes remain effective, compliant and aligned with best practice. Key responsibilities include: • Managing the effective delivery of disciplinary hearings before the Disciplinary Committee (DC) and Veterinary Nurse Disciplinary Committee (VNDC) • Arranging and overseeing appeal hearings relating to examinations, status and accreditation matters • Ensuring hearings are conducted fairly, lawfully and within required timescales • Managing the preparation and distribution of hearing notices, documentation and correspondence • Ensuring accurate records are maintained and information is managed in accordance with legal and organisational requirements • Building effective relationships with committee members, defence organisations, appellants, registrants and other stakeholders • Reviewing and improving hearings processes, developing policies and protocols where required • Identifying and implementing best practice across the hearings function • Managing operational and regulatory risks, maintaining relevant risk registers and escalating issues where appropriate • Overseeing information governance, security and the publication of hearing-related information • Leading the recruitment, training and ongoing development of Committee Members, Legal Assessors and relevant staff • Preparing reports and presenting performance updates to senior leaders and committees • Line managing and supporting the development of the Clerk to the Disciplinary CommitteesEssential: • Demonstrable experience managing and delivering hearings or adjudication functions within a legal, regulatory or tribunal environment • Degree-level education or equivalent relevant professional experience • Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities • Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities to enhance processes and efficiency • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders • Ability to manage complex and sensitive issues with professionalism and sound judgement • Previous line management and staff development experience • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Excellent IT skills, including experience using document management systems and virtual hearing technology such as ZoomDesirable: • Legal qualification • Experience working within a professional regulator, disciplinary body or fitness to practise environment • Experience supporting committees, panels or governance structures • Knowledge of regulatory investigations, disciplinary proceedings or appeals processesMorgan Spencer – Your Career, Our Expertise Morgan Spencer is one of London's leading Executive Secretarial and Business Support recruitment consultancies, connecting high-calibre professionals with outstanding opportunities.Equal Opportunities Morgan Spencer is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified candidates.Confidentiality & GDPR All applications are handled in strict confidence and in full compliance with UK GDPR.
