Client Bookkeeper

Location: Wanstead, Essex (Hybrid Working Available)

You will be responsible for managing the bookkeeping requirements of a varied client portfolio, providing an efficient, accurate and proactive service whilst building strong client relationships.

This is a client-facing role offering plenty of variety and the opportunity to work closely with businesses across a broad range of sectors.

• Managing a portfolio of bookkeeping clients.
\n
• Preparing and maintaining accurate accounting records.
\n
• Processing sales and purchase ledgers.
\n
• Bank and control account reconciliations.
\n
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
\n
• Processing CIS returns where applicable.
\n
• Preparing management accounts information.
\n
• Assisting clients with cloud accounting software.
\n
• Liaising directly with clients to resolve bookkeeping queries.
\n
• Supporting the Accounts team with year-end preparation.
\n
• Ensuring compliance with HMRC and current VAT legislation.
\n
• Building long-term client relationships through exceptional service.
\n

The successful candidate will ideally possess:

• Previous bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice.
\n
• Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously.
\n
• Excellent knowledge of VAT.
\n
• CIS experience would be advantageous.
\n
• Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
\n
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
\n
• Excellent attention to detail.
\n
• Confident communication skills with the ability to build strong client relationships.
\n
• AAT qualified or qualified by experience.
\n
